Harvest Update

Wednesday, October 18:

Wednesday 12:01 pm update: Harvest restart will resume at 9:00 pm Wednesday on blended shifts. Blended shifts only apply to 12 hour growers; this is not open haul. All growers can only haul with allotted trucks.

From Thursday noon forward there looks to be an extended shutdown (until Saturday/Sunday?). We will monitor and update going forward throughout that period.

Blake Buck has been upgraded from injured reserve to mostly active. Andy Finkral has now been moved back to the front office.

Blended shifts: In order to help the 2pm growers catch up we will "blend" both shifts in together. We feel lines should be manageable doing this based on where we are in the harvest.

The Corral was reduced from 15% to 10%. The next Corral Review will be Tuesday, October 24.

The year to date total tons delivered stands at 2,000,000 tons or 21.0 tons per harvested acre.

Please continue to use the MDFC harvest app when fields are complete. If you don't use or have the MDFC app just notify the scale operator at the receiving station.  Corral fields will never be complete; therefore please not mark them as such.

The current tentative Corral remains at 10%. We have just over 39% completed field data at this time.

Scoop information:  All trucks can remove side chutes and extensions on the truck boxes now that all pilers have the new scoops installed. Extensions provide a place for fugitive beets to ride that can and do fall off the truck on the roadways and make a mess. If chains are needed on your truck box the guideline is the opening at the bottom of the box to the end gate when lifted should not exceed 30 inches. Chains do not impede the unloading operation and in some cases may be required. We have noticed some chains that allow the end gates to open beyond the 30 inches rendering them essentially useless.   Trailer hitches can now remain on the trucks.
